Stayner, along with Creemore, Nottawasaga, and Sunnidale, is a part of Clearview Township. An early stop along the way from Toronto to Collingwood, Stayner was originally called Nottawasaga Station, and under that name, it was a major source of agriculture and lumber.

Today Stayner is a place where the beauty of history and the conveniences of the modern day meet fully and completely as a community that is ideal for settling down. A small community of approximately 3,500 people, Stayner is nonetheless home to restaurants, coffee bars, shopping options, and attractions. Bruce Trail, Blue Montain, and Wasaga Beach are all nearby popular for outdoor activities, while the GTA is less than an hour away.
