Located within the limits of Essa Township, Angus is a place with a reputation for happy families. Home to extensive facilities for golfing, skiing, hiking, fishing, and swimming, Angus is conducive to raising an active family. The Pine River Trail, the LeClair Soccer Park, and Nottawasaga Fishing Park are especially popular with the local residents, bringing families together through healthy, productive recreation. Also located within the limits of Essa Township, Canadian Forces Base Borden has been in constant operation since 1916, when it opened during the First World War. It is the historic birthplace of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and it houses the largest training wing of the Canadian Armed Forces.
